Your choice

Our banner offers Accept all and Necessary only, with a Customise preferences link. The preferences modal shows necessary storage as always on and provides separate, initially off toggles for Analytics and Advertising measurement. Save preferences applies your selection. Our Google tag is blocked until you enable an optional category. Necessary only stops optional tracking, including cookieless signals to Google, while leaving this website and its contact options available. Change your choice through Privacy settings at the bottom of any page.

Remembering your preference

We store your choice in browser local storage under westwood-measurement-v2 for 180 days. This records your privacy preference rather than tracking your browsing. Earlier analytics-only preferences do not grant advertising consent; the updated banner asks for a new choice. After expiry we ask again when the website loads. Clearing browser storage removes your choice. If storage is unavailable, your choice may only last for the current page session.

Analytics cookies

If you enable Analytics, Google Analytics can set _ga and _ga_05Q7ZFQSQ9 cookies to distinguish browsers and maintain visit information. Our tag configures a maximum cookie lifetime of 395 days without refreshing it on every visit. Browser restrictions may shorten storage. These optional cookies help measure visits and interactions, including call clicks, WhatsApp clicks and successful enquiries. They are not required to book a service.

Advertising measurement cookies

If you enable Advertising measurement, Google tags may set _gcl_ cookies, such as _gcl_aw, to retain advertising click information and connect later enquiry actions to an ad. These commonly last up to 90 days, subject to browser restrictions. This category can be enabled independently of Analytics; in that case no analytics cookies are permitted, but enquiry actions are still sent through Google Analytics to Google Ads for advertising measurement. We allow only recognised campaign labels and advertising click identifiers in page addresses explicitly sent to Google, rather than arbitrary query strings. Personalised advertising remains disabled. This measurement is optional and is not needed to book a service.

Rejecting or withdrawing

If you choose Necessary only before accepting, our Google tag is not loaded. Turning an optional category off removes its accessible cookies for this site (_ga for Analytics and _gcl_ for Advertising measurement) and reloads the page with that consent denied. Necessary only turns off both, stops our event tracking and prevents the Google tag loading again. We remember your choice and do not replace a Necessary only selection with cookieless tracking.

Staff administration

Authorised staff signing into the admin area receive a necessary ww_admin_session cookie. It supports secure access, expires after eight hours and is removed on sign-out. It is separate from optional analytics consent. The admin area does not load our Google Analytics tag.

Other services

Following WhatsApp or another external link opens a separate service with its own storage policy. Our Privacy Policy explains contact enquiries and operational information. For questions, contact info@westwood-electrical.co.uk or call 01253 272 642.
